We must consciously and strategically
choose the programs our children take part in because programs
do just that, they program our children. What are they programming
our children to do? How are they programming our children to
think? This all plays a critical role in not only our children's
individual success but the success of our people as a whole.
Roots to Fruits Children's Natural Health Center is a youth
centered program that is also supportive of the family structure.
Some would call Roots to Fruits extracurricular, but we choose
to call ourselves an "inner"curricular program. Everything
we teach is devised and developed to strengthen our youth from
the inside out . It is our passion to create programs that have
a "whole"-istic and cultural base. Our rich culture
is the basis of our children's identity and with a true "inner"-standing
of self, infinite possibilities awaken.
Roots to Fruits is giving birth
to a new generation of youth leaders, an army of minds that
will deal with truth righteousness, and justice and work to
build independant and self-sufficient Afrikan communities. We
address the health and healing of children and their families
"whole"-istically supporting the rectification of
health practices that stagnate progression. Our afterschool
programs and weekly classes include academic tutoring from an
Afrikan perspective, Math & Science, Critical Thinking,
Afrikan Language, Afrikan Arts and Crafts, Yoga, Afrikan Dance
and Drum, Martial Arts, Business and Entrepeneurship, as well
as "whole"-istic food preparation. Some of our other
programs include Rites of Passage, Childhood Obesity workshops,
Mommy and Me, as well as natural health counseling for conditions
that our children are facing such as obesity, asthma, ADD, ADHD,
etc. Our natural health counseling also provides discounted
services for family members of children who are enrolled at
